Artisan breads, fresh pastries, and thoughtfully sourced groceries, made daily at 4334 E New York St.
Our Story
Spades Tealife began with a simple conviction: that good food should be made openly, with ingredients you can name, and baked in quantities small enough to care about.
We are a bakery and grocery on E New York Street in Aurora — a neighborhood destination where the smell of sourdough meets a carefully selected pantry. Every loaf, every pastry, every jar on our shelf is chosen or made with the same standard: would we serve this to our own table?
That standard hasn't changed since day one. Neither has our commitment to the community that supports us.
What We Offer
Sourdough, focaccia, ciabatta, and seasonal loaves — all leavened naturally, baked in small batches throughout the day.
Croissants, danishes, tarts, and sweet breads — made from scratch each morning with real butter and honest technique.
Oils, vinegars, spices, preserves, and pantry staples — each product selected for quality, provenance, and taste.
Celebration cakes, bulk bread for events, and custom bakery requests — order ahead and we'll make it yours.
Our Philosophy
We source flour, dairy, and produce from suppliers we know by name. When an ingredient falls short, we don't use it — we find a better one.
Our sourdough ferments for 24 to 48 hours. We don't rush it. Long fermentation builds flavor, texture, and digestibility that shortcuts can't replicate.
We are neighbors first. We hire locally, partner with nearby farms, and treat every customer like someone we've known for years.
